Unable to find work, former Avs plyon, uh, I mean defenseman, Patrice Brisebois retired from the NHL today.

Brisebois is planning to... not making this up... drive in the ultra popular NASCAR Canadian Series.

(Really, Canada, NASCAR?, Really?) The good news, hockey fans, is if you've got some extra cash lying around,

Brisebois said he’s seeking sponsors to his NASCAR team.

In case you forgot, Brisebois sucked in Colorado.

The Brisebois moment that most sticks out in my head is his horrific giveaway to Dustin Penner in OT of Game 3 of the 2006 Western Conference Semifinals.

I believe the collective thought process of Avs fans was something like "What that hell was that, Patrice? Just throw it up the boards! (Your favorite expletive)!!!"

In actual Avalanche news, a non-sucky Avs player, Milan Hejduk signed a 1 year contract extension through next year. If you're a glass-half full kind of person, maybe this means Hejdie is really encouraged by what he's seeing out of the team this preseason...
